Hands-on From Home: Tips for running virtual labs and other activities in the remote environment
Presenter: Jennifer Schwartz Poehlmann, Chemistry
How do you help students actively engage in your remote course and avoid the Zoom fatigue that is setting in? Join us as we examine some case studies for incorporating at-home hands-on activities that improve student engagement and learning within a course. When designed well, activities can highlight course connections within the home environment even better than in person! We will also address some of the unique challenges and concerns that can be present, such as siblings at home. You will then have a chance to reflect on how you might create your own at-home experience for your students.
