The Stanford Chemistry Department invites applications for a Ph.D.-level Lecturer position to begin September 1, 2026 to join a team of 4 other Lecturers in the Department. The candidate should have a strong background in any area of chemistry and a passion for teaching. This position is a full-time, 9-month, fixed-term, full-benefit appointment, with the possibility of optional summer teaching opportunities.  The initial appointment is for 2 years.  The teaching duties vary quarterly between instructing independent laboratories to co-instructing in an integrated lecture/laboratory course with a faculty member, generally within the general, organic, and bio-chemistry courses. As the department has moved toward active learning, the ideal candidate will also be involved in developing and evaluating new active learning materials. In addition to instruction, the candidate will be responsible for evolving laboratory exercises, mentoring course teaching assistants, and participating in Department committees, as appropriate. The expected pay range for this position is $95,220 to $99,560 per annum.

The Department of Chemistry at Stanford University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in any area of Chemistry. Applicants should exhibit the potential to run a world-leading independent research program and should possess good communication skills and a commitment to teaching and mentoring. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a related field at the time of appointment and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Experimental Physical Chemistry, broadly defined. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field, and a minimum of one year of post-doctoral experience is required by the date of employment. The start date for the position is July 1, 2026.

This open position is for a tenure-track assistant professor in the area of physical chemistry.  A successful candidate will assume all of the ordinary responsibilities of a faculty member, including teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, building an independent and highly recognized research program, and providing service to the department, college, and university. The candidate is expected to teach in the undergraduate chemistry curriculum including CHM 030 or CHM 040 (General Chemistry I), CHM 303 or 040 (General Chemistry II), CHM 341 (Quantum), CHM 342 (Physical Chemistry), and/or CHM 343 (Physical Chemistry Laboratory), and a graduate course in the candidate’s field.
