Professor Carolyn Bertozzi Wins Arthur C. Cope Award

The Department of Chemistry would like to congratulate Professor Carolyn Bertozzi who is the 2017 recipient of the Arthur C. Cope Award.

One of the highest honors in the field, this special award recognizes outstanding achievement in the field of organic chemistry. The award consists of a $25,000 cash prize and medallion as well as the opportunity to deliver an award address at the American Chemical Society's fall national meeting which will take place August 20-24 in Washington, D.C.

In addition, an unrestricted grant-in-aid of $150,000 for research in organic chemistry, under the direction of the recipient, designated as an Arthur C. Cope Fund Grant, will be made to any university or nonprofit institution selected by the recipient. A recipient may choose to assign the Arthur C. Cope Fund Grant to an institution for use by others for research or education in organic chemistry.
