Honors Program

A limited number of undergraduates may be admitted to the chemistry honors program at the beginning of spring quarter of the junior year. Those completing the program satisfactorily receive the B.S. degree in Chemistry with Honors.

Admission

Application for admission to the honors program should be completed in Axess at the beginning of spring quarter of the junior year. In addition, applicants must meet with a Student Services Manager before the application can be approved. At this meeting, applicants declare which courses are planned to fulfill the honors requirements, and when the Chemistry 190 work will be completed. All coursework including Chemistry 190 must be taken for a letter grade. By petition, it is possible to conduct your research outside of the chemistry department so long as you can explain how chemistry fits into your research project.

For additional details, see "Honors Program" in the Stanford Bulletin entry for the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
